From Prohibition to Prosperity: Examining the Surging Cannabis Industry in America

The hemp industry is breaking all odds and becoming one of the most successful industries in the United States. Latest cannabis industry report shows the legal cannabis industry in the U.S has recorded its highest-ever number of jobs and sales. This was reported by Vangst, a cannabis industry job platform. The platform discovered there were 440,445 full-time equivalent jobs in the legal cannabis industry and a total sales of over $28.8 billion.

The rapid expansion of the cannabis industry in the U.S. is propelled by a combination of factors, including the growing acceptance and legalization of cannabis, as well as shifting societal attitudes towards the plant. With hemp being recognized as a versatile and valuable resource, its potential to produce compounds that interact with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) has sparked considerable interest and research.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) serves as a master regulator, controlling essential physiological functions in the body. Its primary functions include maintaining homeostasis by balancing various bodily processes such as appetite, metabolism, pain sensation, immune response, mood, and sleep. Acting as a signaling network, the ECS communicates between cells to ensure proper function and adaptation to internal and external stressors. Additionally, emerging research suggests that dysregulation of the ECS may contribute to the development of various diseases. Understanding and targeting the ECS could thus represent a crucial missing link in disease control and promoting overall health and well-being.

Indeed, scientists have extensively researched the potential roles of hemp-based compounds such as CBDa, CBD, CBC, and CBG in alleviating symptoms associated with various conditions. These compounds have shown promise in supporting pain relief, inflammation, anxiety, and neurological disorders, among other health issues. Particularly noteworthy is FDA’s recommendation of CBD-based medication for chronic epilepsy in children, backed by robust clinical evidence.

As interest in hemp grows for its potential to support healthy living through the ECS, it’s crucial to recognize the unregulated nature of the hemp industry. This lack of regulation exposes consumers to substandard products lacking active ingredients. Unfortunately, the absence of strict regulation has created an environment ripe for exploitation by unscrupulous actors. These bad actors peddle low-quality products, often contaminated with bacteria, mold, fungi, pesticides, and heavy metals. Such contaminants pose serious health risks, potentially leading to adverse effects and, in severe cases, even death.

It’s alarming to learn that over 28% of CBD companies neglect to test their products for pesticides, while almost 60% of CBD products are inaccurately labeled. This lack of testing and mislabeling raises serious concerns about product safety and transparency within the CBD market.

So what is the way forward?

Amidst the industry’s growth, reputable CBD brands such as Nesas Hemp are emerging to address the demand for high-quality products. These brands are committed to offering premium CBD products that empowers the endocannabinoid system without exposing consumers to harmful toxins. By prioritizing quality and transparency, these companies strive to empower individuals seeking natural wellness solutions while ensuring product safety and efficacy. With a focus on integrity and excellence, they set a standard for the industry, promoting consumer trust and advancing the potential of CBD for holistic health. Companies like Nesas Hemp prioritize third-party laboratory testing from an FDA approved lab to ensure all the products are clean and safe for human consumption. Founder and CEO Inesa Ponomariovaite truly believes testing products at parts per billion level will improve its safety profile and accurately detect possible contaminants like heavy metals, mold, bacteria, and pesticides.

Taking high quality hemp products would be very beneficial for empowering the ECS since they contain cannabinoids that support the ECS to promote immunity, reduce inflammation, and pain but the industry is not regulated. Although this may sound scary, there is no need to panic as there are products like Nesas Hemp full-spectrum CBDa that are fully organic certified and each batch is tested by an FDA approved laboratory to prove quality and safety.
