Doxepin is a tricyclic antidepressant and sedative. Its most common use for mental health is to treat depression and anxiety. However, while in its Oral Concentrate form (Silenor), it can be used to treat sleep disorders like Insomnia. It can also treat skin conditions and skin discomfort in its topical forms.

Uses of Doxepin

Doxepin is used to treat the symptoms of mental illnesses, such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and phobias, among other conditions.

How should I take Doxepin?

Doxepin comes as a capsule, or a concentrate (liquid) which is to be taken orally. It is usually taken one to three times a day and may be taken with or without food. It is best to try and take doxepin at around the same time(s) every day.
