Affordable Holistic Healthcare at The Practice Wellbeing Centre

Affordable Holistic Healthcare at The Practice Wellbeing Centre

Attention Aussie East Coast citysiders! Spring into better health with The Practice Wellbeing Centre, a student-led clinic offering high-quality, affordable holistic care. Run by Torrens University students under expert supervision, the Centre provides services like clinical nutrition, western herbal medicine and naturopathy at just $10–$20 per appointment.

Natalie Cook, Director of Innovation, Industry & Employability, Health & Education said the Centre is a win-win for students and the community.

“Our student clinics offer the community affordable, high-quality healthcare while also preparing our students for successful careers in the health sector, increasing their employability.

“Our clinic doors are open to anyone who wants to gain support with their wellbeing.  Our approach is genuinely person-centred, backed by the academic rigour of a university degree,” said Natalie.

Affordable Healthcare Amidst Rising Cost of Living

Right now, with the rising costs of healthcare, The Practice Wellbeing Centre offers affordable and accessible holistic, preventative healthcare to the community.

Students at the Forefront

At the heart of our Centre are the students from Torrens University Australia. Our clinic is not only a place of healing but also a critical training ground where students gain hands-on experience in Clinical Nutrition, Western Herbal Medicine, Naturopathy, Counselling (Sydney only), Chinese Medicine, Myotherapy (Melbourne only), and Beauty & Aesthetics (Brisbane only).

Each student undergoes supervised clinical training, a unique feature of our program that sets us apart as the only university in Australia to offer such comprehensive practical experience.

The Practice Wellbeing Centre is crucial for students’ professional growth, providing hands-on experience with real clients. This real-world immersion enhances their practical skills and patient care understanding, easing their transition from academic studies to professional roles.

Yianna Tsakirios, a Clinical Nutrition graduand, shares, “our training goes beyond textbook learning. We acquire practical skills and apply them in a real-world setting, which significantly enhances our employability and readiness for the health industry.”

What services do we offer?

Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a system of healthcare based on traditional philosophies and principles. Student practitioners are highly trained over 4 years to take a holistic and individualised approach to healthcare. Your practitioner will take detailed notes about your health problem and lifestyle to assess your physical and mental health. Treatments are tailored to your needs and may incorporate nutritional coaching, herbal medicine, supplementation, lifestyle and exercise advice.

Western Herbal Medicine

Western Herbal Medicine practitioners take a holistic approach to health with treatments based on the use of plants as medicine. Our student practitioners blend traditional and health science knowledge to individualise your herbal prescription that may be dispensed as liquid, tablet, capsule, tea or food as medicine. Practitioners provide basic diet and lifestyle advice to optimise health outcomes. Herbal medicines are used to treat a variety of complaints ranging across digestive, skin, stress, sleep, reproductive, musculoskeletal and immune conditions to name a few.

Nutrition

Nutritionists draw on traditional and evidence-based understandings of food as medicine to manage complex health conditions. Our student practitioners tailor dietary, nutritional and lifestyle prescriptions to meet your individual health goals.

… and more! Consult your local clinic or visit our website to find out about our additional services, including Counselling, Beauty Therapy and Myotherapy (depending on which state you live in).
